Brian's drawing, cartooning and painting began in early childhood, and led to commissioned artwork in his college years. He began showing in galleries and businesses in central and southern Colorado. As part of his artistic endeavors, he also became a political cartoonist, having fun lampooning then noted politicians: Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, and others. His cartoons were published in regional periodicals and newspapers.
Actively engaged in Colorado's outdoor life, Brian is an accomplished mountain climber - having scaled 45 of Colorado's fourteen thousand foot peaks, and a number of the Washington and Oregon's higher peaks (Rainier, Hood, Adams).
It's no surprise that his love for the outdoors transfers into his primary artistic subjects of western animals and landscapes and seascapes and island themes - as Brian and his family share a deep love and attachment to Maui and the Hawaiian islands.
